About QuantoTech

QuantoTech is a supplier of LED and Ag-Tech Systems based in Vancouver, Canada that specializes in integrating LED light systems into a traditional grow environment.

As a member of BC’s Cleantech Supercluster, QuantoTech strives for environment friendly solutions. LEDs are the most efficient and environment friendly lighting available on the market thanks to their long lifespan and efficient energy consumption and minimal heat waste.

The company has patents pending on vertically staged grow systems for horticulture and has developed Wi-Fi enabled plant monitoring and tracking for all of its grow systems. The solution was originally developed for northern latitude or challenging grow sites but can be applied to any grow situation. QuantoTech’s hydroponic shelving system takes a traditional grow layout and makes it vertical, optimizing the growing area inside of greenhouses and increasing output. The shelving has a water and nutrient distribution systems that can integrate with an existing control system.

QuantoTech works closely with local Canadian universities, researching solutions to further minimize electrical and thermal waste, to test plant monitoring systems, and to run controlled experiments. QuantoTech also hosts practicum students.

Alycia van der Gracht
Founder

Alycia is an entrepreneur. As a founding member of QuantoTech, she oversees supply chain management, client services, research and analysis, and day to day operations for the QuantoTech team.

Before QuantoTech, Alycia worked at several companies and technology start-ups such as the Alacrity Foundation, CarrotLines, and Media Touch in roles ranging from recruitment to marketing. In 2012, Alycia decided to pursue her research professionally and founded QuantoTech where she engineers solutions to combat food insecurity.

Alycia earned a B.A. at the University of Lethbridge with a Major in Sociology. Her continuing professional development activities include attendance at a variety of conferences and events including the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) at the World Trade Centre, the International E-Commerce Essentials program at the World Trade Centre, and attending finance bootcamps with Women Tech Founders association.
